RTFKT studios is disclosing details about their latest joint venture with software developer Daz 3D for building a new version of NFT.
RTFKT Studios, declared an artifact, have announced a joint partnership with software developer Daz 3D to use their technology to create immersive three-dimensional avatars for tokens or their irreplaceable upcoming NFT version, CloneX. Founded by Chris Lee, Benoit Pagotto and Stephen Vassilev, RTKFT is at the forefront of the next generation of sneaker culture, combining evolving augmented reality technologies, indispensable tokens and blockchain authentication, among others.
Their latest project, the pfp avatar project, will use the Daz 3D PFP utility kit to extend the avatar's capabilities across a variety of environments including gaming, video, social media, and the metaverse. The Daz 3D software platform is home to more than 4 million artists and designers worldwide, and their partnership with RTKFT is expected to be the first of many creations between the two companies over the next year.
In a recent conversation with Chris Lee, Co-Founder and CEO of RTKFT to learn more about the motives behind the Daz 3D collaboration: "I've always been a huge Utah supporter. Born and raised here, I'm home to work with established Utah 3D companies. Not many people know this, but 3D was a co-founder in Utah by Ed Catmull." discovered by Pixar and former president of Walt Disney Animation Studios at the University of Utah. RTFKT this week showcased the upcoming Avatar New York project for the Make Everyone Talking JPEG event, NFT NYC. The long-awaited Clone X project is expected to hit the market later this month and will consist of 20,000 avatars, half of which will be available to existing RTFKT owners in a 48-hour pre-sale event, followed by the other half. public market in Dutch auctions.
In the last part of our conversation, we asked Lee for his opinion on whether it would be important that the emerging NFT-pfp project be "ready to metaverse" at launch. "Yes. This will start the era of AR/VR experiences on another level. People will want a place to use their NFT, be it their own home in the Metaverse, put on Metaverse mode to Party in the Metaverse or their own avatar.
