Every NFT was striked for 0.1 Ether which is at least $390 with all of the 1,000 Ether increased the primary sales meant for donation to “a non-profit focused on the policy issues facing cryptocurrencies.” Universe showed that the beneficiary has been chosen even though the name of the organization will be made public soon. The proceeds from resales will be deposited into the Universe DAO’s multi-sig wallet with communal votes every month created to identify which organisation will disburse funds to 7.5% of secondary sales which will be directed to help lobby groups located outside the United States. The Lobby lobsters bring in participation from so many leading figures from the DeFi and crypto ecosystem including Foobar Fiskantes and Delphi Digital co-founder Tom Shaughnessy.
The whole concept of Lobby Lobsters came from discussions between Uniswap’s Hayden Adams and Synthetix’s Kain Warwick related to how fund lobbying efforts standing by the DeFi industry. The lobby lobsters release came in the middle of the backdrop of the US Securities and Exchange commission’s investigations into Uniswap’s development team. the huge support shown towards Universe’s Lobby Lobster drop is about the recent controversy about the allocation of one million UNI tokens worth $20 million from the Uniswap treasury to fund lobbying and advocacy efforts of the DeFi recently created.
