Dogecoin was the 4th prominent news on Google both in the United States and worldwide in 2021
Google unveiled its annual list of the top searches for the year on Tuesday, categorising them into various categories such as searches, news, personalities, games, entertainment, and others.
Dogecoin was the fourth-most famous news search term on Google in 2021, according to Google Trends' "Year in Search 2021," both worldwide and individually in the United States. The news story "Ethereum Price" was rated tenth.
Afghanistan, AMC stock, COVID-19 vaccine, GME stock, stimulus check, and other topics are some of the tops searched news items, including cryptocurrency. In 2020, there was not a single cryptocurrency on the list.
It's noteworthy that Bitcoin (BTC), the market's most valuable crypto, isn't represented in any category of the "Year in Search 2021," either globally or in the United States.
Dogecoin, which was launched in 2013, has evolved as one of the most prominent cryptocurrencies in 2021, having entered the top ten largest cryptocurrencies by market value already this year. DOGE's price has surged this year, due in part to Tesla CEO Elon Musk's support, who began proactively supporting DOGE on Twitter in 2020.
DOGE is up over 5,100% over the last 365 days, compared to 632 % for Ether, according to data. Bitcoin, on the other side, has increased by around 160% since last year.
