Kakao, a South Korean technology giant, intends to open the acces to KLAY, its cryptocurrency, to Samsung phone users.
KlaytnPhone with free tokens
KLAY is a token of Kakao's own blockchain, Klaytn which, together with another blockchain platform, Ground X, appeared on the market in October, 2018. According to a number of sources, every Klaytn's version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 phone will contain a cryptocurrency wallet and an indefinite number of the KLAY tokens.
The phone will additionally include several other Klaytn functions that are designed to bring users closer to the operation of blockchain technology. There is one problem, however, the phones will be accessible on the South Korean market exclusively.
New blockchain smartphones
Both Kakao and Samsung refuse to comment on the release of these new phones. What is worth noting is the fact that in March, Samsung has already released its first "blockchain" smartphone - Samsung Galaxy S10.
Other companies try to follow in the Samsung's footsteps. Just a few days ago, Whole Network, a startup supported by the Huobi cryptocurrency exchange, released a news saying that $500 worth Acute Angle will appear on the market next week.
As the industry develops and as innovations like 5G become increasingly integrated into our telecommunications systems, we believe more and more crypto communities will want to trade and transact from mobile devices.
- says Livio Weng, the head of Huobi Global.
